    WHW Facts

    I just read an interesting post by a friend.  He lamented on how hard it is for a blog reader to truly understand the poster simply based on that post and others.  He is dead on right. 
     
    This posting is an attempt to build a more complete image of me...not that anyone is clammoring for it.  I have seen others do this, and think it is a cool.
     
    Without further chatter, here are 75 facts about me:
    1. I am 6'1 and weigh a little more than I should
    2. I love my family
    3. I am not gorgeous...I am ok
    4. As my profile indicates, I am a nerd
    5. I love coaching kids sports teams
    6. I love Christmas
    7. I have never had shingles
    8. I still have all of my teeth
    9. I "graduated" High School as the salutorian
    10. I was never a hit with the girls in school....too backward and shy
    11. I graduated college Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
    12. I have never had head lice
    13. I grew up in a rather small town (10,000) but one with a lot of crime
    14. Both of my parents died before I was 25
    15. I value my friends very highly
    16. I am terrible at art and music
    17. One thing I hate more than anything else is the unfair treatment of people based on their clothes, their appearance, their job, their sex, their race, or their place in society.  No one has the right to think they are better than others. We are all children of God.
    18. I completed a multi-week Dale Carnegie course, getting the most improved presenter award at our last class
    19. I hate Lotus Notes
    20. I have only been punched once in a fight...and it hurt
    21. I had ulcers at age 10
    22. My blood type is O positive
    23. I was going to be a doctor, but didn't have enough money to go to college that long
    24. I wish I lived in the Pacific NW
    25. I know 12 people who have been in prison
    26. I grew up near a bar that had a dirt floor. 
    27. I have a strong Christian faith......but I could always use some improvement
    28. I like Mel Brooks' 10,000 Year Old Man
    29. When I was an adult, I found out that I had been adopted (at age of 1 week)
    30. I love to go fishing.....but hate to clean fish.  Catch and release.
    31. Although I live in a very small town, I would love to live in the country....on a farm.
    32. I paid my entire way through college using loans, grants, scholarships, and working as a janitor
    33. I admire my dad very much.  He never gaduated high school, but ended up being the president of the school board...and a very wise man.
    34. Because my Dad worked many jobs, most of the day-to-day raising was done by my mom....who was one of the toughest people I have ever known.....4'8", 50% native american, and afraid of no one.
    35. I love to sit in meetings and make smart @ss comments at randomly stupid, meaningless processes and procedures.
    36. I am frequently approached by people who are very unique......at last count, 3 said they were vampires, and one was sure his neighbor was using mind control, so he covered his headboard with aluminum foil
    37. I once laughed so hard I peed my pants
    38. I once sat next to Sandra Bernhardt in Ohare airport.  She was not a nice person that day.
    39. I much prefer to laugh....and try to do it as much as possible.
    40. I am awful at home repairs....havng once tried to install a dish washer which resulted in over $800 in repairs by a real plumber
    41. I really enjoy talking to people who are individuals....even if I don't agree with them.
    42. I love people who are passionate about something....but hate it when those people are unable to accept others who are passionate about the opposite.
    43. I love riding a bike (not motorcycle)
    44. I have sent many emails to Bill O'Reilly....but to the best of my knowledge he has never read any of them on TV
    45. I have given a lot of thought to what I would do if I won the lottery.  It involves a pickup truck, and me mooning a lot of people.
    46. I love listening to Cubs games on the radio
    47. I like watching movies that make me laugh....and aren't fond of those that try to scare me or make me cry.
    48. I have encountered an unusally large number of strange situations in public bathrooms
    49. If I could do it over, I would change a lot....but would still marry the same person
    50. Once someone threatened to throw me out of a funeral home.
    51. I won an American Legion Good Citizenship award in 8th grade
    52. I had mono 3 times in high school....no time was it contracted in the "cool" way.
    53. I have attended a speech given by Bill Gates (in person)
    54. I attended an REO Speedwagon concert...and my ears rang for 2 days afterward
    55. I love watching cartoons with my kids
    56. I love listening to Stevie Wonder music
    57. I once heard the f-bomb used by a friend in 3rd grade.  When I repeated it at home I really did get my mouth washed out with soap.  Ivory soap.
    58. I always wanted an afro
    59. I have "issues" with chocolate milk and some pastas.
    60. I once told a very rude airport security person that I was deaf.
    61. One of my favorite movies was Woody Allen's Love and Death
    62. I hated Wizard of Oz
    63. In 8th grade I was forced to attend a classical music concert.  I sat at the top of the college gym bleachers and spit over the side over and over.
    64. Once, while trying to impress a girl, I was told I reminded her of Kermit the Frog.
    65. I get really tired of Rush Limbaugh and Al Franken
    66. I love Mountain Dew
    67. I once sneezed so hard I triggered a car's security system
    68. I love eating pizza
    69. I have no idea what my heritage is
    70. I wear glasses and believe I may be legally blind
    71. I have only shot a gun once in my life....and didn't hit the target or the stand it was on
    72. I like Microsoft Access
    73. I once bench pressed 320 lbs.
    74. I like rainy days
    75. I hope that someday I can honestly say I did something that helped people.

    Great 101 (or 75) You just had to be different didn'cha? LOL
    Numbers we have in common, 6,7,8,12,15,(My friends are very important, and know I'll be there for them)17, another really good one. 22,24, 27, 30 (I love to pretend I'm fishing, but I'm really just enjoying the beauty and sounds around me)31, 35 (smartass comments for every occasion, that's my motto) 36...yep, I seem to have a face that says, hey, come talk to me, and old guys seem to like me... the REALLY old ones! 37(we won't go there), 39!!! 41,42,47, 55,56 (excellent taste!), 62 (not sure I hated it but it did scare the crap outta me) 68, 74, and 75. Now, on to, Bill, the sequel, part deux... BIG HUGS, Steph

    Ok Bill,,,,regarding number 75, I absolutely can say you help me.
     
    I read these and laugh.  My favorite sound is laughter, particulary my wifes laugh.
     
    I always know that if I need you, you would be there for me.
     
    So, you have definitely helped me. You can check this one off your list.
